🎙️ About Master Kat
The Name. The Voice. The Vision.
Born from a deep love for music, culture, and connection, Master Kat is the driving force behind Masterkat Radio a platform built to inspire, entertain, and empower.
Launched on October 7, 2024, Masterkat Radio was never meant to be “just another station.” It was created as a movement — a sound-based space where reggae and dancehall thrive, where stories are told, and where up-and-coming voices can rise.
With a commanding presence behind the mic and a humble heart off-air, Master Kat is a true curator of vibes. Every show, every beat, and every guest is carefully selected with intention — to elevate culture, spark conversation, and connect listeners from the Caribbean to the corners of the globe.
Master Kat believes in:
🔊 Giving talent a platform, not just a play
🎧 Using radio as a voice, not just a playlist
🌍 Building community, not just an audience
“Masterkat Radio is the sound of the people. It's a space for passion, purpose, and progress. I'm just the vessel the energy belongs to all of us.” Master Kat
Whether you're tuning in for the music, the message, or the moment you’ll feel the heartbeat of the island and the fire of the future in every broadcast.
🎤 People & Culture Meet the Voices Behind the Vibes
🎧 Meet David Laing aka SupaMuta
Host | Selector | Culture Preserver | Sound Curator
Born and raised in Portmore, Jamaica, SupaMuta’s love for music ignited at just eleven years old. Inspired by the community sound system Loving Bird, he spent his early years soaking in the sounds of cassette recordings from legendary systems like SS Syndicate, Stone Love, Super T, and Jam Rock Inner City long before he was old enough to attend a dancehall party himself.
His deejay journey officially began on the nightclub scene, spinning on a sound system called Super Sound. A friend soon connected him to the larger platform Exotic Disco, which paved the way to Studio Motion in Seaview, Kingston. Originally known as DJ Dave, his evolution into internet radio gave rise to the name we now know and love: SupaMuta.
🎵 Genre-Blending, Boundary-Breaking
SupaMuta’s love for music spans far beyond reggae and dancehall. His dynamic sets include hip hop, R&B, reggaeton, afrobeat, Chicago house, and timeless classics from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. His versatility keeps his shows fresh, vibrant, and unpredictable in the best way.
Whether you're tuning in for smooth grooves or dancehall energy, one thing’s for sure:
A nuh normaal ting, Rasta.
